Our Mission

At LHC Lab, our mission is to provide direct, professional blood testing that is accurate, reliable, and accessible. As a laboratory with no middleman, we aim to help patients who may not be able to access certain tests for free through the NHS, offering them at a fair and reasonable price. We understand that some patients face financial barriers to private healthcare, and our goal is to ensure that cost does not prevent anyone from getting the tests they need.

We are committed to supporting patients in improving their health, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and increasing awareness of their well-being. A Professional, CQC-Regulated Laboratory

LHC Lab operates as a CQC-regulated professional diagnostic laboratory, adhering to strict UK healthcare standards. Our laboratory infrastructure, equipment, and processes mirror those used in NHS diagnostic services.

Samples are processed using state-of-the-art analysers and overseen by experienced laboratory professionals. This ensures that results are not only fast, but also clinically accurate, reproducible, and meaningful. 

We also partner with The Doctors Laboratory (TDL; a well-known UKAS-accredited lab) for some more specialised tests, which we don't process in our own lab.

Accuracy at LHC Lab is continuously verified through both internal quality control and participation in independent external quality assurance programmes, which are a hallmark of professional laboratory practice.

External Quality Assurance (EQA)

External Quality Assurance involves the regular testing of unknown samples supplied by independent organisations. Results are compared against expected values and against those from other professional laboratories nationally and internationally. This process ensures testing remains accurate, consistent, and reliable over time.

RIQAS® – Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme

LHC Lab participates in RIQAS®, one of the world’s largest external quality assessment programmes. It is the world's largest External Quality Assessment scheme with more than 76,000 laboratory participants spanning over 140 countries.

In addition to RIQAS®, LHC Lab participates in Bio-Rad EQAS® (External Quality Assurance Services), a globally recognised external quality assessment programme used by professional diagnostic laboratories.

Bio-Rad EQAS® provides independent, third-party verification of laboratory performance across a wide range of clinical analytes.

Bio-Rad supplies blind external quality assessment samples at defined intervals

These samples are tested using our routine laboratory workflows and analysers, exactly as patient samples are processed

Results are assessed against target values, peer laboratories using comparable methodologies, and accepted analytical performance criteria

When activating your sample online, you will be asked to provide your GP or surgery’s email address (optional). A secure copy of your laboratory report is sent directly to them, helping integrate your results into your wider healthcare and supporting informed clinical decision-making.
