This STI test kit detects Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea using a urine sample (males) or a vaginal swab (females). Please choose the option that matches your gender.
IN-LABORATORY ANALYSIS:
Your sample is analysed using PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), one of the most accurate testing methods available.
What is PCR?
PCR is a highly sensitive molecular technique that detects the genetic material (DNA) of Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.
Instead of looking for antibodies or signs of infection, PCR identifies the actual bacteria, even when present in very small amounts.
Benefits of PCR Testing
-
Extremely accurate: Able to detect very low levels of bacteria.
-
Early detection: Can identify infections even before symptoms appear.
-
Highly reliable: Less likely to produce false-negative or false-positive results.
You can trust LHC Lab, as it is regulated by the CQC (Care Quality Commission), the same body that regulates NHS hospitals and clinics.
LABORATORY REPORT: You will receive a medical laboratory report by email, which you can share with your doctor.
FAST RESULTS: Results are typically available 1–3 days after the sample reaches our lab.
Incubation Periods
Chlamydia
- Incubation period: Usually 1 to 3 weeks after exposure.
- Some individuals may not develop symptoms for weeks or months, and many remain completely asymptomatic while still carrying and transmitting the infection.
Gonorrhoea
- Incubation period: Typically 2 to 14 days after exposure.
- As with chlamydia, symptoms may be absent even when the infection is present.
Both chlamydia and gonorrhoea can be asymptomatic, making routine testing essential—especially after unprotected sexual activity or if you believe you may have been exposed.
