World Hormone Day will return on Friday 24 April 2026

The European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) has confirmed that World Hormone Day will return on Friday 24 April 2026, bringing together the global endocrine community to highlight the essential role hormones play in health and wellbeing.

Building on the success of the 2025 campaign, which reached more than 136 million people across 40 countries and in 25 languages, World Hormone Day 2026 aims to strengthen public understanding of what hormones are, why they matter, and how everyone can take steps to support better hormone health.

The theme for 2026 is #BecauseHormonesMatter. ESE is encouraging members of the public, patient groups, healthcare professionals, national endocrine societies, and the media to take part. People can join online activities or organise local events, all with the goal of increasing global awareness of hormone health.

ESE President Professor Wiebke Arlt highlighted the need for greater public knowledge, saying:
“There is still a major gap in public understanding of what hormones are and how people can look after their hormone health. Hormones influence almost every process in the body, yet most people only think about them when something goes wrong. World Hormone Day is a chance to change that by raising awareness and sharing practical steps everyone can take towards better hormone health.”

To support activities at local, national and regional levels, ESE will release a range of updated campaign materials. These will include social media graphics, posters, videos and editable templates that organisations and individuals can adapt. All resources will be available to download at the end of January 2026.

More information will be available at www.worldhormoneday.org.
